The Team

Our team is the highest qualified in the world, with the most RYA Level 5 Instructors you'll find in any centre. They are all true professionals, with a relaxed and friendly approach and endless enthusiasm, so you can't help but make rapid progress. Many of our instructors move around the world with us, so you'll recognise familiar faces in foreign places!

Having started late in the windsurfing world, Steve-o has fast tracked his way through 10 seasons to get one of the most desired jobs in windsurfing. Previously part of the Flying Fish training crew, Steve-o has returned to the dark side for another season on the beach at Club Vass. After a cheeky stint in Margarita this winter, his windsurfing freestyle is now certainly one for the spectators! Currently on the hunt for sponsorship and always the first one to get naked, come and hang out with him before he flies back out to Oz' this winter.

Andy 'Bubble' Chambers - Advance Plus Instructor

With first place in both the 2005 and 2004 British Freewave Series and 2 British Championships to his name, Bubble is fast becoming a name to be reckoned with on the pro circuit. He also competed in Lanzarote last year and got through a number of rounds. We're lucky to have Bubble as a year-round instructor; he spent winter 04/05 at Club Margarita and 05/06 at Club Dahab - so ask him for the low-down on the awesome conditions at both spots. He's unbelievable to watch. Bubble’s moves are world class and polished to perfection, but he's also a gifted instructor who can make you learn fast too.

Jo Scott - Advance Plus Instructor & Divemaster

Jo lives an enviable and endless summer of windsurfing, having worked at all 3 Club Vass centres as well as sailing in Australia, South Africa, Spain and Cyprus. A polished and impressive sailor - her magic moves keep the boys on their toes and her motivating teaching style will help sort your sailing too. And girls, look out for Jo heading up "Club Vass Divas", our dedicated girls' windsurfing clinics - she really know how the 'laydees' learn best.

Colin Dixon - Advance Plus Instructor

Rescued from the shore-break of Western Australia, Colin is now well established as a solid member of the team - a Club Dahab veteran and Margarita mad man - who has effortlessly slipped into the Vassiliki scene. Smmooooth with the ladies and even smooother on a board, you'd struggle to find someone with more enthusiasm for the sport. Vying for sponsorship, and anything else free for that matter, he'll be found at the bar looking for his next vodka.

Ollie Scott - Advance Plus Instructor

Ollie comes to Club Vass after teaching at UKSA along with a spell in Turkey and Antigua. Having returned from ripping it up in Margarita this winter Ollie is welcomed back to the the Club Vass team as a real freestyle talent (check out his ''Flakas''). This stealth Geordie brings a canny smile and plenty of dodgy fancy dress to the Thursday night BBQ.

Amy Chambers - Intermediate Planing Instructor

Amy joins us for her second season in Vass having seen the light and left her previous life as a kiting instructor. Multi-talented Amy (no pun intended) has also worked in Dahab teaching diving and has more qualifications up her sleeve than most. Her endless energy is contagious and you won't fail to be enthused about the sport.

John Newby - Advance Plus Instructor

This fresh faced Yorkshire lad brings an infectious giggle and cheeky grin to the team. Easily recognisable on the water busting out huge loops and smooth spocks - John is loads of fun to sail with. You will find him bare-chested with the bbq boys each Thursday night - just don't mention the tan lines!!

Max Rowe - Intermediate Planing Instructor

Don't be fooled by the boyish looks and shy manner, this guy fits the stereotype. Long blonde hair and bags of talent, he is learning trick after trick at an alarmingly rapid pace. Always enthusiastic with his coaching and often found discussing moves with guests in the cocktail bar after hours with a vodka red. He bears an uncanny resemblance to a previous Club Vass legend.......

Barnaby Knight - Intermediate Non-planing Instructor

The boy from Canberra, he couldn't be more Ozzie if he tried. Super laid back but very passionate about his windsurfing and passing on his knowledge to our unsuspecting guests. Hoping to make it past immigration covertly, we are lucky to have found him. Last seen wandering the outback of the beach in his leather waist coat quoting "that ain't a knife..."

Tommy ‘Two pumps' Parrish - Intermediate Non-planing Instructor

Starting in the windsurfing world last year and training up with Flying Fish, the Club Vass instructors spotted legendary potential, took two pumps under their wing and created a hero. With and incredible likeness to Eddie Izzard, this cross dressing instructor will dazzle you with his new moves innate charm. Glad to have you with us Two pumps!!

Marnie Toocaram - Start Windsurfing Instructor

The Lovely Marnie T makes her first appearance on the beach at Club Vass having spent the previous summer working behind the counter. Ready to rock this summer as the Kids' Club instructor, this beach vixen is another up and coming Club Vass Diva. After a couple of months training in Margarita, Marnie is now giving the boys a run for their money. With a seducing smile and wicked left hook (just ask Max) Marnie is proving she has what it takes to make it!

Ellie Ross - Intermediate Non-planing Instructor

Her second season on the beach at Club Vass, Ellie has already proven herself to be a serious asset!!! With no end to her beach talents, she can speak fluent French as well as dominate a short board, often at the same time! A little special on the maths front, she knows the ‘9 common senses' off by heart. Having previously trained with Flying fish, Ellie is now fully established at Club Vass and we are glad of it.

Sarah Morgan - Start Windsurfing Instructor

Joining the team for a second season here at Club Vass, Morgan is an excellent team player. Having started her water sports career in boats, it didn't take her long to realise that the future lies with windsurfing! Generally quiet and bubbly this girl turns into a party animal after a few glasses of wine. Improving her skills on the water every day, not only can she sail and windsurf like a demon, but she also reached the final 12 on X Factor a couple of years back! Honoured to have you with us Morg's.

Sarah Wickham - Start Windsurfing Instructor

Sarah comes to Club Vass for her first season having spent time working in the UK and Egypt. She will be working alongside Marnie in the Kids' Club this summer and helping to mould the next breed of young guns. Currently training to be a teacher, this mistress will dominate you on the water and leave you with nothing but a memory. A quiet girl with a potential dark side, Sarah is definitely one to watch.

Matt Berkhauer - Advanced Plus Instructor

This badger loving legend has been part of the Club Vass crew for a few years now. After a winter going walkabout in the Ozzy out back, Matt has not only learnt to survive off the land and mimic the marsupials, but has also taken his windsurfing freestyle to the next level. Very good with his hands and always making something out of something else, Big Matty B is a priceless member of our team. It's not officially windy here in Vass until Matt makes the call!

Jamie Gibbs - Advanced Plus Instructor

After a winter working at Club Dahab, Jamie has come back to Vass with a whole new repertoire of tricks and is pushing our top boys. With the best no-handed (open-mouthed) flakas on the beach, Jamie is certainly one to watch. But it doesn't end there; Jamie is very skilled and is capable of speaking two languages, English and Scottish......remarkable! After an awesome session on the water, Jamie can be found chilling in the cocktail bar - elbows high, of course.

Ally Cobb - Intermediate Non-Planning Instructor

Her first season working on the beach at Club Vass, Ally was plucked from the UK and is fast becoming a key player in our team. With no fear on the water, she can be seen charging full speed into her manoeuvres and putting some of the more experienced sailors to shame. All this is backed up by her experienced teaching style and personality which always gets a thumbs up. With a few trophies in Kickboxing, be sure not to upset this "usually" mild mannered lady of the south.

Marco Wedele - Advanced Plus Instructor

A true Club Vass legend, Marco has spent most of his time working and managing our centre in Dahab. We are lucky enough to have him working on the beach this summer and representing Club Vass in competition at a European level.
A powerful sailor with bags of style, this crazy German is also a professional dancer and can be spotted busting his moves anywhere with music - most recently on Greek national television in front of several million people. Marco, keep on rockin!

Ellie Hooper - Intermediate planning Instructor

Her third season here in Vass, but the first time working for us on the beach. Last year Ellie was training instructors with Flying fish and now we have the honour of working alongside her. Ellie decided to hang up her schmemmer boots and devote her time to windsurfing, which proved to be a first class decision as she is now a full speed freak. Don't be fooled by her looks, this blonde haired, blue eyed girl is also a martial arts expert and could have you down on the mat in seconds! Welcome to the team.

Martin Venton - Mountain Bike Guide

Martin has been working as a bike guide for a number of years now and is hugely passionate about his sport. When he's not out on rides he can be found pimping the staff bikes or out on the water windsurfing. With several years serving her majesty in the forces, Martin has gained many other unusual qualifications, including fencing instructor and story beater. Welcome to the team Martin.
