Diva Week - Dahab March 8th
Amy's week
So, it was Diva's in Dahab. 4.2 weather everyday, need I say more? Oh yeah, apart from our last day when it was 3.7 weather...
A windy week proved to be just what my intermediate and advanced girls, Rachel and Kate needed! We blitzed the harness and the shortboard tacks. Kate was well on the way to getting round her carve gybes, perfecting that smoooooth entry!
Tuesday night was Masbat night, Egyptian cuisine and er, lots of rum! A few sore heads didn't stop us getting out and flying around in the lagoon on Wednesday.
Thursday was a non-teaching day but the girls still got out on the water in the morning, then it was snorkelling at the Blue Hole in the afternoon.
It was windy again on Friday, we had an awesome morning in the lagoon then the wind died off in the afternoon and it was up into the Wadi's on camels for Bedouin night.
We managed to get two video sessions in during the week, it's not as mortifying as it sounds, honest! It proved extremely useful and the girls benefited a lot from it. Saturday was super windy and we actually had the morning off to recover from any bumps and bruises that we'd accumulated during the week! In the afternoon we chatted a bit about windsurfing...and then headed into town for milkshakes and massages, ready for the Saturday night party at the club. A perfect end to a pretty hardcore week!
Dani's week
Two total beginner Diva's and one week of nuclear wind! Challenging, yet perfect conditions to get the girls, Kirsty and Siann into the sport. Both did fantastically well, by the end of the week they were sailing upwind and tacking and cruising downwind and gybing, in 4.2 weather, let alone beachstarting on their first attempts! Thanks to Kirsty and Siann for a great week, and well done to Kirsty for getting planning and trying the harness after just one week on the water!
Bella's Story
Bella Jezzard has kindly given us her run down of the Team Diva week too - see here for the full diary...
