Margarita offers a diverse selection of alternative activities if
you feel like a change from windsurfing (as if!). It is also a great
springboard for visiting mainland Venezuela and other Islands for a
truly unforgettable holiday.
Whether by sea or by land, there will always be something for everybody here.
Surfing
Ever wanted to live the dream of early morning surfing on deserted Caribbean breaks?
We run regular morning 'surf safaris' to discover the breaks of the North Shore beaches (Fanatic surf boards supplied).
Diving & Snorkelling
If you would like to experience more action under the water rather than above, this is the place to do it. With a PADI dive school available and plenty of snorkeling equipment on hand, the clear, warm Caribbean waters await.
Trekking
We run regular a regular trekking excursion to the rain forest of inland Margarita, giving you the opportunity to take a breather from the beach for a morning and explore a bit more of the island.
Your guide is a very friendly and knowledgeable local who will take you on a memorable trip through Margarita's 'jungle'. It's a relatively easy trek but does include some rock scrambling along the river and waterfalls, with optional swimming in freshwater pools (make sure you pack some decent trainers or
walking shoes). The guide will point out interesting flora and fauna along the way, including snakes and tarantulas, although the less brave can stay safely out of the way! The trek takes you through banana and pineapple plantations then up the mini 'mountain' (a fairly gentle hike) for breathtaking viewsof the island. Then it's time for lunch - prepared by Juan's mum and including delicious local specialities such as 'arepas'. After lunch it's straight back to the beach for a full afternoon's windsurfing...ahhh another perfect day in paradise!
