The island of Vassiliki is charming and unspoilt, so well worth taking time out to explore. A number of different options are available, all bookable locally:
Rib Safaris
This is a great way to explore around Vassiliki Bay. Half-day trips mean you can be back at the club in time for the afternoon cross-shore (more advanced windsurfers) or go sight-seeing in the afternoons if it's too windy (the less experienced). Exploring caves and hidden coves, dolphin spotting and lunch in local tavernas are all part of the fun.
Sea Kayaking
This is a slightly more sporty way to explore Vassiliki bay and possibly the best chance to spot dolphins close-up. Half-day trips start in the morning and take in the hidden bays on the way to stunning Agiofilli beach for swimming or cliff-diving (for the more adventurous). Then it's off to beautiful Ammousa Bay for introductory scuba diving or snorkelling. After refreshments and snacks at Kastri Camping before paddling back to Vassiliki by 1.00pm, in time for the afternoon's windsurfing.
Car, Jeep and Moped Hire
It's well worth hiring some form of transport to explore the beautiful, unspoilt Island of Lefkas: The stunning West coast, including Porto Katsiki with its white beaches and cobalt-blue sea The mountainous interior with traditional villages and breathtaking landscapes Lefkada town, with traditional squares, shops, the old port and the new marina.
