Windsurfing: Beginners & Improvers

At Club Vass we are keen to encourage youngsters to try windsurfing and our Kids' Clubs give them the perfect opportunity. We have a large range of dedicated kids' equipment and our instructors are experienced in teaching kids. Our kids' kit is so user friendly that we find that even the youngest can have a go, although progress will depend on size, strength and aptitude.

At this stage we want to develop enthusiasm for the sport, so windsurfing is taken very much at each child's pace. Once they progress from beginner to improver level, kids will have the opportunity to go out in light cross-shore (planing strength wind) where they will start to use the harness.

At intermediate level (using harness, planing comfortably, starting to get into footstraps) and wish to progress  can transfer to Young Guns where windsurfing is prioritised as the main activity.

PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons, transfer to Young Guns and kids being allowed to windsurf in strong winds is entirely at manager's/instructors' discretion.

Of course safety is a huge priority - we take the kids out in the gentle morning on-shore, they all wear buoyancy aids on the water and are under close supervision from their instructors and the rest of the beach team in the beach hut, rescue tower and safety boats.

What to bring

We recommend each child comes equipped with a bag containing: sun-cream, rash-vest/sun suit, towel, change of clothes, drinks & snacks as required.
